Is it really worth staying in this place, when
- Your wife cries everyday talking to you.
- You are away from your family, friends and relatives.
- You can't participate in any of the function to share happiness or grief.
- You can't go around freely, knowing that either the racist would catch you or the police.
- You know at the back of your head that you are the odd man out.
- Your skin suddenly becomes the differentiating factor
- You start thinking of putting your heads down and walk as fast as possible to reach home.
- You fear of talking in your language in public.
With so many odds against you, the only driving force is the money that you get at the end of the day. The money that would help you lead a decent life back home. I wish I leave this country forever and never come back. Just when I pen this down, I remember a song of Jacko, "All I want to say is that, they don't really care about us..."

Sorry to hear that. From your blog I gather you are in the UK. I spent a year near London and I have to say that Britain is ceratinly way behind the pre-9/11 US. You feel you are an outsider in your bones - maybe that 's the case in the US, but not to this extent. But the public image and patronizing tone that the media , esp the BBC, adopts is really irritating once you get to know what British society is really like. This was also one of the reasons why I decided to leave after a year. Oh, man, the expression on people's faces when you enter the train compartment or sit opposite to them. Sometimes we desis sell outselves too cheaply. Anyway , good luck, man.
