Jumboos - D-men

We five formed a closed group of south Indian fanatics very soon with two exceptions, Nags with his connections with north east and some Hindi guys and me, having spent eight years already in Indore. Guys (including me) found it particularly difficult to digest the fact that Nags had some north Indian friends. Nags soon had formed close relationships with few people (irrespective of gender) which made everybody raise their eyebrows. OK, I don't want to talk about this anyway and coming back to subject.

I was part of the REC committee responsible for organizing recreational activities at office and I had announced volleyball tournament. We decided to form a team with five of us and with an additional south Indian, no room for north Indian you see :). We carefully selected the fifth guy (Sudarshan) who was pretty talented unlike us and soon nominated our team for the tournament. SuKu gave the team a name (D-men) and also wrote a small introductory note and this was posted in "News and Views", our office's bulletin board for the whole world (ok, office) to see.

The strength of our team was not Nag's height, Sudarshan's precision or Lu's control (or lack of it) but it was SuKu's proficiency in yelling at others and that too uttering more bad words in a minute than our opponent. We stormed our way winning match after match and blazed through the tournament as winners, Hurray!

The tournament was an important event which brought all four of us together and made our group more closely knit. We started discussing lot of varied topics than before like Nag's behavior, Nag's language, Nag's attire, Nag's living, Nag's broken hand, Nag's able hand and Nag's bikes etc... the topics were so varied that we all started to enjoy it to full extent (I think we can exclude one from the list of people who enjoyed). Our day started with Nags and ended with Nags and I won't be wrong, if I say that Nags made the stay of people like Lu, SuKu and Sam more enjoyable.

In those days, we wouldn't have electricity between 8 PM and 10 PM, so after we finish our Volleyball match, we used to sit near the court with a cup of coffee and discuss about life, future, jobs, Indore, Chennai and you guessed it Nags. Suman continued to banish the place for what it is but still without any shame come to office the very next day and start working (sort off). Slowly but steadily we got influenced by Suman and started to look outside Indore...To follow...
